Job summary

QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, LLC is seeking a talented Technician's Assistant to join our team in Puerto Rico and the USA. You will contribute to a world-class manufacturing-focused research program, performing seed handling, field operations, and sample processing in seasonal cycles under supervision.

Responsibilities include operating mobile and stationary field equipment, assisting with repairs, preparing shipments, and supporting the Field Technician.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science (or General Science) or related fields.
• Ability to standardize qualitative data and classify into scales.
• Leadership and organizational skills required.
• Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Driver license processing may be required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks in the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• Seed handling and sample processing including shipping preparation.
• Operate mobile field equipment under supervision (tractor, etc.) and stationary equipment (module builder).
• Assist Field Technician with repairs/maintenance and equipment operation as needed.
• Tasks vary with seasonal stages; suitable for indoor/outdoor settings.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• Seed Handling
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Agricultutal Science (related fields) or Bachelor Degree in General Science (related fields)
• Standardize qualitative data (e.g., scales, categories)
• Leadership and Organizational Skills
• The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
• 1st & 2nd shift.
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
