Job summary

QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, LLC is seeking a seasonal Field Technician in the Puerto Rico & USA region. The role involves performing a variety of field and processing tasks within a world-class manufacturing context of the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, and manufacturing industries.

The candidate will assist with field research operations, sample preparation, and equipment maintenance under supervision. Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks in the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• Assist with tasks for the Field and Processing Worker role.
• Assist Field Technician under supervision as needed.
• Operate or assist with field equipment under supervision.
• Perform seasonal field operations (planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations, harvest).
• Handle sample processing, sorting, weighing, and seed packaging for shipping.
• General facility operations and clean-up; organize samples and supplies.
• Assist supervising Field Technician with additional tasks as required.
• Operate mobile field equipment (tractor, cotton picker) and stationary equipment (module builder).

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Natural Science (Biology or Environmental Science), Statistics, Mathematics or Information Systems.

• The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
