Job summary

Quality Consulting Group, LLC in Puerto Rico and the USA is seeking a talented Technician's Assistant/Field and Processing Worker to join the Phytogen Seed Company research program. This seasonal, on-site role supports field operations and sample processing to help drive our world-class manufacturing program.

Responsibilities include field planting, thinning, weeding, sample harvest, and processing tasks with supervision from the Field Technician.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agronomy or related field is required.
• Leadership and strong organizational skills are required.
• Contingent worker must be able to obtain a driver license when asked (employment requirement).
• Availability to work 1st & 2nd shifts; weekends and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field research operations: planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Assist with repair and maintenance of field equipment under supervision.
• Assist with operation of field equipment such as tractors or other mobile equipment.
• Handle sample processing tasks: preparing supplies, sorting, weighing, and packaging for shipping.
• Organize samples and supplies; participate in general facility operations and cleanup.
• Perform tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician; work in indoor/outdoor settings.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related fields

• The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
• 1st & 2nd shift
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
