Job summary

Quality Consulting Group in Puerto Rico and the USA seeks a talented Technician's Assistant to join our field research program in agronomy. You will perform a range of seasonal tasks and support Field Technicians in a world-class manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include planting, sampling, field equipment operation, sample processing, and general site maintenance. This role requires flexibility across shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related fields.
• Leadership and Organizational Skills.
• The contingent worker will be responsible for expediting the needed driver license when asked (this is a requirement for employment).
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• Assist with the Field and Processing Worker tasks.
• Assist with repair and maintenance of field equipment under supervision.
• Operate mobile field equipment such as a tractor or cotton picker.
• Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, weighing, and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including organization of samples and supplies.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.
