Sylvania is looking for a JRMS Student Leaders Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. The advisor will establish a student leadership team, focus on social and emotional skill building, and prepare engaging activities that address the core values of John Read Middle School.

The position requires 2 hours of commitment per month and a stipend of $1,104, payable in two installments, in December and June. This role is vital for enhancing student leadership opportunities and fostering a positive school climate.

Responsibilities:

• Establish a student leadership team with a focus on social and emotional skill building.
• To prepare high quality school activities for all grades to address the core values of John Read Middle School’s Taking Care motto.
• Topics/activities to include addressing positive school climate, staff appreciation and the transition to a new grade.
• Increasing leadership opportunities for students and implementing a program for recognizing positive behavior throughout the school.
• Implementing wellness initiatives throughout the building for students and staff and building relationships with the greater Redding community!
• One time meeting for the purpose of reflection on club activities will be scheduled.

Time Requirement:

2x monthly for 1 hour

Stipend:

$1,104. 1/2 paid in the first paycheck in December, 1/2 paid in the first paycheck in June
