Job summary

Ariva Group in Laredo, TX is seeking a Jr. Staff Accountant to assist with month-end and year-end close, bank reconciliations, and both AP/AR processes. The role includes posting to the general ledger and supporting budgeting efforts.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting experience, strong detail orientation, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software; bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Supervise accounts payable team members.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger.
• Post month-end journal entries.
• Provide monthly reports comparing actual results with budgeted projections and write budget variance notes.
• Assist in developing budgets.
• Support all day-to-day accounting functions.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable vouchers and deposit accounts receivable checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Jr. Staff Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close process, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assist with postings to the general ledger.

Primary Purpose:

The Jr. Staff Accountant will collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software. Review and verify source documents.

Essential Functions

• Help process month-end and year-end close process
• Supervise accounts payable team members
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to general ledger
• Post month-end journal entries
• Provide monthly reports comparing actual results with budgeted projections and writing budget variance notes
• Assist in the process of developing budgets
• Support all day-to-day accounting functions
• Bank reconciliations

• As other duties as assigned.
