Job summary

CoolSys Energy Design - Consulting Engineers is seeking an entry-level Refrigeration Design Engineer to transform initial red-line designs into engineering drawings using AutoCAD or Revit under supervision. The role supports building projects such as supermarkets and retail facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and has strong thermodynamics knowledge, with the ability to work with Senior Engineers and cross-functional teams. Minimal travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit required.
• Strong fundamentals in engineering thermodynamics and refrigeration cycle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed designs for building projects including supermarkets and retail.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
• Incorporate design requirements with direction from the Senior Engineer.
• Contribute to conceptual design for specific projects.
• Ensure schedules, regulatory requirements and best practices are followed.
• Maintain design activities with quality control and code compliance.
• Prepare design calculations and constructible engineering documents.
• Coordinate with local building officials regarding code compliance.
• Assist with on-site visits and reporting as required.
• Support other department activities including plotting, transmittals, and shipment coordination.

Job Summary

To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design - Consulting Engineers (CED) is in search of a Refrigeration Design Engineer (Entry Level) to join our team! Our ideal candidate will transform initial “red-line” designs into engineering drawings using AutoCAD or Revit under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and create detailed designs for a variety of building projects including supermarkets and retail.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
• Incorporate selection, layout, sizing, and applicable system and equipment requirements with direction from the Senior Engineer.
• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
• Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including engineering, quality control, and code compliance.
• Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Prepare design calculations and engineering documents that are constructible and meet both customer quality requirements and company standards.
• Coordinate with local building officials regarding code compliance.
• Assist with on-site visits and reporting, as required.
• Provide support for other department activities as required including plotting drawings, producing transmittals, and coordinating the shipment of deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or construction disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit required.
• Strong fundamental skills in engineering thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as demonstrated high-quality technical writing skills.
• Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to achieve project goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
• This position will require minimal travel to project sites.
