Job description

Phoenix Cyber is seeking security-focused Python programmers to develop custom plugins and third-party integrations for a commercial cybersecurity software product. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing data models, index structures, storage strategies, as well as ingesting, indexing, transforming, and normalizing data using log aggregation tools like Elasticsearch and Splunk. Responsibilities also include enriching data upon ingestion, querying, and creating queries against big data.

This is a 100% remote, work-from-home position available anywhere in the continental United States.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 2 years of strong Python programming experience.
2. Experience in developing Python libraries.
3. Experience using REST and SOAP APIs to query and update data across multiple third-party applications.
4. Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, and other development tools.
5. Experience with cloud infrastructure and networking in AWS and/or Azure.
6. Degree in a STEM-related discipline and/or at least 5 years of cybersecurity experience.

Nice to have:

1. Experience with SOAR tools such as Swimlane, Cyber Triage, Phantom.
2. Experience with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK), Kafka, Beats, and/or Splunk.
3. Experience with database modeling (relational/non-relational), especially MongoDB.
4. Configuration management experience with Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
5. Experience with container services like Docker and Kubernetes.
6. Linux system administration experience.
