Job summary

LaunchTech is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our crew supporting the Missile Defense Agency on the IRES contract. You will provide day-to-day admin of hardware, software, network and users, and assist end users at Fort Belvoir, VA and other locations as needed.

The role requires 2+ years of general IT experience, 1+ year related IT work, and an active DoD Secret clearance with DoD 8570 IAT II certification.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general (full-time) work experience; may be reduced with advanced education.
• 1+ years of directly related IT experience.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer hardware, software, network and users on a day-to-day basis.
• Provide in-person and phone end-user support for troubleshooting hardware, software, OS, and Office apps.
• Install hardware at End User offices (laptops, desktops, monitors).
• Contribute to large-scale projects and events.

Ready to be the face of IT support for the people protecting the nation? This role directly supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract, where your hands-on support keeps MDA end users productive and mission-ready.

What You’ll Be Doing

The candidate will:

• Conduct day-to-day administration of hardware, software, network and users.
• Provide in-person and phone support to MDA End User troubleshooting computers, printers, software, operating systems, and Office products.
• Install hardware at End User offices (Laptops, Desktops, Monitors, etc).
• Contribute to large scale projects and events.

The successful candidate will:

• Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

This is a customer-facing position, so professional behavior and dress is necessary.

Some travel is expected and necessary for the position.

What You Bring

Basic Requirements

• Must have 2, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
• Must have 1, or more, years of directly related IT experience
• Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT level II certification (e.g. Security+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
• Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs
• Must be able to move around a large complex facility, perform work under desks, as well as other physical aspects of the position
• Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements

• Have previous experience in Customer Service, as well as prior experience working in a DoD environment.
