The Jr. Celtics Academy, the official youth basketball platform of the Boston Celtics, seeks a part-time Supervisor to support clinics, camps, leagues and other programs for the 2026-27 season.

You will lead on-court training, design activities to improve fundamentals and character, and serve as a positive role model for players and families.

3-5 years in related fields preferred; strong safety mindset, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Education or coaching experience not required but preferred.
  • Ability to engage with a wide age range of participants and levels.
  • Strong emphasis on safety and positive development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Availability to work weekends and holiday/school break periods.

  • Pre-event set up and post-event breakdown.
  • Proactively greet parents and engage with participants.
  • Grow Jr. Celtics Academy network with existing and new youth basketball partners.

Supervisor: Sr. Director, Head of Youth Basketball Development

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part Time, 29 Hours Per Week

Summary

The Jr. Celtics Academy is the official youth basketball platform of the 18-Time World Champion Boston Celtics, which is dedicated to improving positive youth development in the community through highly engaging basketball programs teaching the standards of Celtics basketball to kids, coaches, referees, and parents.

Jr. Celtics Academy provides New England’s youth with inclusive and unique basketball experiences, using fun and professionally proven techniques to teach youth both basketball and life skills, creating the next generation of Celtics fans. We see ourselves as the continuously developing source of Truth for youth basketball in New England.

Would you like to develop the next generation of youth basketball? Do you love teaching the game and working to develop young people? If so, we have an opportunity for you! Responsibilities will include supporting our operations, including clinics, camps, leagues and much more throughout the 2026-27 season.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate on-court training and skill development to youth basketball players

  • Build a positive environment where participants can show up and do their best on and off the court
  • Pre-event set up and post-event breakdown
  • Pro-actively greet parents and consistently engage with participants
  • Grow Jr. Celtics Academy network through existing and new relationships with youth basketball organizations and facilities in the community
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Professional experience in education and/or coaching not required but strongly preferred
  • Ability to engage with a wide age range of participants and ability levels
  • Overall dedication and understanding of youth development basketball training
  • Exhibit unwavering passion for the activities with a keen focus on safety
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Available to work flexible hours, primarily weekends and holiday/school break periods

The expected range of annual salary/hourly rate and potential commission, if applicable, is included below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate Range: $17.00 - $24.00
