Job summary

Collins Mfg. in Florida seeks a Junior Assembler to support the assembly department with daily tasks including unpacking, inspecting parts, cleaning fixtures, and light assembly.

You will read routers and work instructions to identify components and ensure conformance to specifications. Responsibilities include studying drawings, performing hand assembly, inspecting materials, reporting defects, and maintaining safe, orderly work areas.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude needed to perform set-up and basic assembly tasks.
  • Strong math skills used for shop calculations and tolerances.
  • Clear write-ups and ability to read and interpret written information.
  • Attention to detail to monitor quality and conformance.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine requirements of set-up, operations and final assembly.
  • Assemble components and perform tasks such as inspection, removing/installing fasteners, painting, pressing pins and related mechanical tasks.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to lead or design.
  • Perform general mechanical operations by hand, with tools and with light equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of components during and after assembly and document results.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all assigned assembly operations and other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The assembly process is involved with inspection, removingand installing fasteners, painting, pressing pins, and other mechanicaltasks.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditionsto lead or design.
  • Regularly perform mechanical operations by hand, with tools andwith light equipment.
  • Perform general inspection of components before, during and afterassembly process and documents results.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere and communicates effectivelywith co-workers.

Work Environment:

While performing theduties of this job, the employee is periodically exposed to moving mechanicalparts. The noise level in the workenvironment is usually low to moderate.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma preferred but not required
  • Prefer 6 months of related experience – preferably in amanufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadlinedriven environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and works well with all members of theorganization.
