Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer for the JPALS group within Precision Navigation. The role involves hands-on lab work across datalink/communications, Position and Time sensors, and navigation algorithms, contributing to the full development lifecycle from design to integration.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting lab failures and investigating defects on advanced radio communications equipment and avionics LRUs.
• Knowledge of testing GPS functionality and familiarity with radio transceiver architecture/design.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in the design of brand-new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
• Perform hands-on testing in a lab environment.
• Ability to create, analyze, and review mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Debug Real Time Operating System Software.
• Assist in system concept, design, validation & verification, and integration activities.
• Support configuration management, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete assignments on schedule.
