Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join the JPALS group within Precision Navigation in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will contribute to GPS, datalink, sensors, and navigation algorithms across the full development lifecycle, with hands-on lab work and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a strong background in systems engineering, test, and verification. Onsite work only.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience troubleshooting lab failures.
• Experience investigating defects in avionics and advanced radio equipment.
• Knowledge of GPS testing and radio architecture.
• Ability to read high-assurance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in the design of brand-new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
• Perform hands-on testing in a lab environment.
• Create, analyze, and review mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Debug Real Time Operating System Software.
• Support total system analyses including requirement allocation and interface studies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete projects on schedule.
