Job summary

Austin Industrial provides premier maintenance, construction, and craft services to leading industrial companies in the U.S. This on-site welding role requires joining metal parts per layouts and welding procedures. You will operate welding equipment, read blueprints, and ensure pieces meet specs.

The position is full-time on-site with a 9-hour shift (7:00am–4:00pm) Five days a week; travel not required beyond local. Equal opportunity employer; U.S. work authorization required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level welding experience.
• Weld Test required prior to employment.
• Valid Driver's License and TWIC Card.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weld or tack weld pieces using spot, electric, or gas welders.
• Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas; manage valves.
• Preheat and prepare pieces for welding; adjust flame and gas flow.
• Use torches for straightening, curving, or dissolving metal as needed.
• Inspect work pieces with straightedge or templates to ensure specs.
• Assist crane operator for lifting large components and prepare work areas.
• Operate cutting tools to dismount or scrap metal and protect pieces.
