Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a Combination Welder for our Houston, TX area project. You will join metal parts per layouts, blueprints and welding procedures using arc, gas, and spot welding equipment on-site.

Key responsibilities include welding, torch cutting, pipe/tank assembly, piece inspection, hoist signaling, and adherence to safety standards. Requires 4 years’ journeyman-level welding and a valid TWIC card with a driver’s license. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 4 years of journeyman-level welding experience.
• TWIC Card and valid driver's license required.
• Welding tests or certifications preferred.
• Ability to read layouts, blueprints and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Weld or tack weld pieces using spot, arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Unite pipes and components; monitor flame temperature and feed gas/air.
• Preheat and fit pieces per welding procedures and layouts.
• Inspect pieces with measuring tools to ensure specs are met.
• Operate hoists or cranes to position large components; assist as needed.
• Follow safety rules; perform other duties as assigned.
