Pape’ Kenworth in Coburg, Oregon is seeking a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to join our team on the day shift. You will work on medium and heavy-duty class 7 and 8 trucks, performing repairs accurately and efficiently to keep our customers on the road.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience on medium/heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks including engine repair, electronics, HVAC, and chassis.
• Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and assertive.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Repair medium/heavy-duty class 7–8 trucks accurately and timely in the shop.
• Support customers by maximizing truck uptime.
• Restore sidelined trucks to service quickly and correctly.
• Require technical expertise and critical thinking under pressure.
• Analyze and diagnose malfunctions; determine best action.
• Repairs/rebuilds of cabs, steering, engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, electrical and air systems.
• Maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability and longevity.
• Requires judgment, attention to detail, and safety/quality standards.
• Collaborate with technicians in a well-supported shop to perform top-notch heavy-truck work.
