Job summary

West Coast Energy Systems in Wisconsin seeks a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to manage machine building, tooling maintenance and repair, and to ensure equipment reliability. The role includes planning, building and altering dies and fixtures, plus supporting project engineers and managers on technical challenges, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will diagnose complex issues, repair equipment, design prototypes, and lead maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good prioritization and planning capabilities.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and machine functionality.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
• Perform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function.
• Work with defined procedures and policies under supervision.
• Diagnose and repair complex equipment breakdowns and coordinate with vendors for rapid resolution.
• Provide hands-on training for team members.
