Job summary

Check-Mate Manufacturing is seeking a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker to inspect, build, repair, and maintain dies, fixtures, and tooling per control plans. You will analyze specifications, lay out stock, and set up machines, while leading small teams and coordinating with vendors as needed.

Minimum prerequisites include a Journeyman license or completion of an apprenticeship, plus 5 years in the trade with emphasis on small precision stampings. English communication preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker or completion of a 4-year apprenticeship or advanced manufacturing certificate.
• Minimum 5 years in the trade with emphasis on small precision stampings from progressive dies.
• English communication preferred (written and verbal).
• Knowledge/experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and EDM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Builds, repairs, and maintains dies, fixtures, and tooling per specifications.
• Analyses specifications, lays out stock, and sets up machine tools.
• Operates machines and fits parts to make/repair dies and tooling.
• Lead small teams and coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
• Train and develop apprentices and communicate effectively with others.
• Maintain safe working environment per procedures and regulations.
