Job summary

Kauai Mechanical is seeking an experienced Journeyman Service Technician to join our Service Department on Kauai. You will diagnose and repair HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and control systems, and lead larger projects while delivering high-quality service to customers.

You will perform preventive maintenance, read electrical schematics, estimate costs, and communicate effectively with customers and the office. A strong safety mindset and clean work habits are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline.
• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC related experience.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Universal EPA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC problems including component installation and replacement.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems as needed.
• Identify and isolate problems clearly communicating what is needed to come to a resolution.
• Estimate costs of installation repairs and services to customers.
• Read and apply electrical schematics diagrams blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Talk confidently with the customer acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
• Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM.
• Take the lead on larger repairs and jobsites that require more than one technician.
• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
• Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.
