• Read and apply electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Take the lead on larger repairs and jobsites that require more than one technician.

Kauai Mechanical is looking for an experienced and motivated Journeyman Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality service to customers.

As a Journeyman Service Technician, you will work on a variety of HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and control systems across residential and commercial systems throughout Kauai. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, lead larger repairs and projects, and continue building your technical expertise with a company that values professionalism, safety, and quality workmanship.

Job Functions:

• Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems as needed.
• Possess the technical skills to identify and isolate problems and clearly communicate what is needed to come to a resolution.
• Estimate costs of installation, repairs, and services to customers.
• Read and apply electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Communicate confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
• Perform work with a focus on safety and quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site. Leave customer job site cleaner than it was upon arrival.
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM.
• Take the lead on larger repairs and jobsites that require more than one technician.
• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
