Qualifications

• Education – High School diploma with a certification as a lubrication technician.
• Experience - 3 years’ minimum experience, able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Supervisory Responsibilities - May directly supervise 1 to 5 scaffold builder helpers in Operations.
• Language Skills - Read, write and speak fluent English.
• Mathematical Skills - Basic arithmetic, quantities, and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to required dimensions.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
• Secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Secures scaffold to permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to OSHA, site-specific and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigation.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when communicated to do so.
• Inspects and stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
