Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks an experienced plumber to support district plumbing systems, including maintenance and repairs of fixtures, boilers and hot water systems. The role covers day-to-day work orders, safety considerations around students and staff, and on-call emergency responses.

Candidates should have 2–10 years of related experience (L1–L3 levels), a Colorado driver’s license, and an ASSE backflow tester certificate for higher levels.

Qualifications

Two to ten years related experience; L1 2 years, L2 4 years, L3 10 years journeyman experience.
Must have Colorado Driver's License and meet insurability standards.
L2/L3 requires ASSE Backflow Protection Assembly tester certification.
Commitment to equity and education values; live in Colorado and meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

Receives work orders, reviews, prioritizes and plans plumbing issues.
Installs and repairs fixtures including water closets, urinals, sinks, and valves.
Installs and repairs boilers, hot water heaters and related controls.
Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Assists with snow removal on a 24 hour on-call basis.
