Job summary

Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, is hiring a Plumber/Zone Mechanic III to perform as a Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter from layout to final assembly and handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC and painting tasks as needed.

The position requires a Virginia Journeyman plumber license, valid driver's license, and proven experience in commercial/industrial plumbing maintenance and troubleshooting. This is a full-time, on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia driving license.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• State of Virginia Journeyman plumber license.
• Documented hands-on experience in commercial or industrial Plumbing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and corrective maintenance repairs for major/minor installation, repairs and alteration to all plumbing, plumbing fixtures, domestic water system, gas lines, sanitary/steam sewers, steam/return systems, pipe fitting, welding, and installation for all piping within uniform building code guidelines.
• Performs general preventive, corrective maintenance and notes deficiencies in assigned Zone by creating work orders as well as PM water temps at mixing valves, eye washes, steam traps and other related parts.
• Check Sanitary and Storm Sewer systems for cross contamination and illicit discharges as scheduled in work order system.
• Enters time, progress, materials, tasks and completion data for work performed on assigned work orders in the automated work order system.
