Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking a Journey Level Plumber within the Remodel & Construction Services Plumbing Shop. The role handles layout, installation, and maintenance of water, waste/vent, storm drain, gas, and vacuum systems for new construction and remodels.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, estimating materials and labor for bids, scheduling shutdowns, and ensuring installations meet plumbing codes.

Qualifications

• Experience with journey or master level plumbing license.
• Commercial plumbing experience preferred.
• Experience working in a higher education setting is a plus.
• Experience with med gas, polypropylene pipe, and threading pipe.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing system installations for new construction and remodels.
• Read blueprints and perform material take-offs; estimate materials.
• Develop labor and material estimates for bidding and budgeting.
• Plan and schedule utility shutdowns and excavations.
• Maintain plumbing tools and equipment; ensure compliance with codes.
• Coordinate with PMs to arrive at project budgets.
