Horton Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, a proud brand of Clarion Home Services Group, seeks a Journeyman Plumber for our Detroit metro service area. You will diagnose, install, maintain, and repair complex plumbing systems across residential and commercial sites, while upholding safety and code standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing residential and commercial systems with knowledge of local Michigan plumbing codes.
• High integrity and a strong desire for continuous improvement.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to solve complex problems and put customers at ease in challenging situations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose complex plumbing issues and pitch high-value, comprehensive solutions to customers.
• Install, maintain, and repair complex water and wastewater systems across residential and commercial sites.
• Layout connections, install supports, and assemble valves with leak-free testing and code compliance.
• Ensure every job is properly sized, graded, and aligned to meet environmental and local plumbing standards.
• Stay in sync with dispatch, management, and the parts team to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Manage your mobile office (company truck), track inventory, and handle digital paperwork.
• Participate in training, ongoing education, meetings, trade shows and retreats.

Work Location: Detroit, MI and surrounding area

Work Arrangement: On-site, and field based.

Employment Type: Full time.

Schedule: Monday through Friday; daily start and end times vary based on project demands. Variable full-time schedule, up to 40 hours per week (hours are driven by project workloads and seasonal business needs; a minimum number of weekly hours is not guaranteed). Occasional overtime, weekend shifts, and after-hours work may be required depending on business needs.

Travel: Daily travel to residential/commercial job sites throughout the local branch’s service region.

What You'll Do:

• Manage your mobile office (company truck), track inventory accurately, and breeze through digital paperwork.
• Participate actively in all training exercises, continued education, morning meetings, trade shows and retreats.

What You Bring:

• Experience:5+ years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing residential and commercial systems. A deep understanding of local Michigan plumbing codes.
• Integrity:High integrity with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
• Professionalism: A professional demeanor with the ability to solve complex problems and put customers at ease during "messy" situations.
• Compliance: A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Must be physically able to be on feet 8 hours a day.
• Must be physically able to perform strenuous labor including lifting heavy objects (75lbs. and up) on a daily basis.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder numerous times throughout the day.

Compensation:

• Base Pay Range: $32-40/hr
• Range Basis: Within this range, an individual's starting pay is determined by several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, qualifications, professional experience, and internal equity across our organization.
• Other Compensation: Overtime eligibility. See benefits listed above.
• Overtime Classification: Hourly, non‑exempt.
