Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman with 3+ years of documented field experience to read and interpret instructions and to plan and perform piping work independently. The candidate will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and processing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and drawings.
• Experience planning and executing installation work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble and install piping systems and fixtures.
• Select pipe types and materials per job specifications and install supports/hangers.
• Inspect site, plan sequencing to avoid obstructions and coordinate with others.
• Cut and thread pipe using appropriate tools and methods.
• Weld pipe supports to structural members and test for leaks.
• Operate and maintain piping and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as required.
