Job summary

Brown & Root is seeking a Journeyman Level IV with extensive field experience to lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and related equipment. The role requires reading plans, coordinating workflow, and ensuring high safety standards on site.

Responsibilities include pipe selection, threading, bending, mounting, welding, testing for leaks, and assisting with material handling.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequence.
• Cuts pipe with hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer, chisel, torch, or machine.
• Threads pipe using threading machine and bends pipe with tools or machine.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets and secures pipes to structures.
• Assembles and installs pipes and fittings with various joint methods.
• Test piping systems for leaks and observe gauges for indications.
• Welds pipe supports to structural steel and observes machinery for malfunctions.
• Load, transport and handle materials and tools; assist in positioning pieces as needed.
