Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production and processing systems.

Responsibilities include cutting, threading, and installing pipes, attaching pipes to structures, planning layouts, and operating pumps to remove water from flooded areas. No sponsorship is available; 3–5 years journeyman experience required.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required.
• 3–5 years journeyman experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections using valve keys or wrenches.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
