Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. seeks an experienced Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production and processing.

Responsibilities include cutting, threading, attaching pipes, planning layouts, and maintaining piping systems. 3-5 years journeyman experience preferred; education minimum not required. Equal opportunity employer; on-site position in Borger, TX.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience: 3-5 years.
• No minimum education requirement.
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid State ID, Valid Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, torches, threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls or fixtures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and materials according to specifications.
• Maintain pipe systems and equipment following specifications and using hand and power tools.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural safety.
