Job summary

Green Bay Shipping Container Division in Green Bay, WI is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to oversee and perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in a corrugated production/converting plant.

You will work on gear drives, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems, read blueprints, and ensure safe, reliable operation across shifts. The role requires a technical degree or Journeyman certificate and 3+ years of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience or more.
  • Technical degree or Journeyman certificate in an industrial maintenance field preferred.
  • Knowledge of gear drives, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance with a safety-first focus.

  • Install, align, disassemble and move stationary industrial machinery and equipment according to layouts.
  • Inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Possess or learn steam system knowledge as required.
  • Position machinery using hoists and cranes during installation and repair.
  • Lubricate and perform routine maintenance on machinery.

Position Overview

The Journeyman Mechanic directs and performs all maintenance duties including repairing, installing, and troubleshooting equipment in a corrugated production/converting plant.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties with a "safety first" focus.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work requirements.
  • Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as printing and gluing systems, pumps, fans, tanks and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of Steam and Steam systems or ability to learn the systems required.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and tractors, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
Qualifications
  • Ability to rotate between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.
  • Technical degree or Journeyman certificate in an industrial maintenance type field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years or more of prior experience as a Maintenance Mechanic. Any combination of technical skills trade education and machine maintenance experience will be considered.
  • General knowledge of gear drives, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
