Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and completion of Lineworker Apprenticeship or status as a 1st Class Journey Lineworker.
• Demonstrated experience in construction and maintenance on overhead and underground conductors, structures and equipment.
• Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity related to distribution and transmission lines and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs operation, construction, reconstruction, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems and equipment.
• Maintains inventory, time and material records for all work performed.
• Operates electric distribution vehicles and related equipment.
• Assists with installation, maintenance, testing and calibration of metering equipment, substations and controls.
• Performs customer meter installations and disconnects as directed.
• Performs installation and maintenance of public outdoor lighting systems.
• Inspects, monitors and documents operations, maintenance and testing of distribution, generation and equipment.
• Advises Electric Distribution Superintendent in planning distribution modifications or extensions.
• Serves on-call and responds to call-outs of electrical system or service problems.
• Performs work in line with safety policies and reporting systems.
• Maintains general upkeep of vehicles and storage areas.
• Represents the Agency at training seminars and conferences.
