Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an experienced A-Lineman in Clinton, MS to safely perform skilled electrical work on distribution and transmission systems. You may supervise others and must operate in challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years' directly related experience.
• Able to work irregular hours and travel at a moment's notice, anytime
• Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license
• Possess your own tools
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions
• Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions
• Ability to hear long distances
• Ability to see long distances and differentiate between colors, have clear depth perception, and peripheral vision ability
• Ability to work without supervision
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Completion of a Lineman training school preferred

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment regularly and erecting barriers around work areas.
• Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards from disturbed or fallen lines or to facilitate repairs.
• Climb poles and use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment.
• Place insulating or fireproofing materials over conductors and joints.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and substations, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment.
