Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. You will work in a field crew, build distribution lines, troubleshoot equipment, and operate heavy distribution equipment on projects across the region.

The role emphasizes safety, high-quality workmanship, and mentoring apprentices. Expect site-based work with travel within the region and a base pay range with per diem support;

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman certification required or equivalent.
• 4+ years of powerline industry experience including distribution construction and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical plans.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to apply controls to reduce risk.

Responsibilities

• Construct new overhead distribution lines, including framing wooden poles, installing equipment, setting up pullers, and stringing conductors.
• Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and modify high- and low-voltage distribution systems and related components.
• Troubleshoot faults and complete repairs to restore operation.
• Safely operate bucket trucks, digger trucks, backhoes, and other distribution equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in tailboards, meetings, and inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate progress to crew.
• Provide technical guidance to Apprentice Linemen and help develop trade skills.
