Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Journeyman Lineman for a field crew role in the Georgetown, SC area, with regular regional travel and a 6-7 month project duration.

You will construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution systems and mentor apprentices while upholding WE WORK SAFE principles. The position requires a DOL-certified apprenticeship or equivalent and at least four years of powerline experience, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman certification from a recognized program or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of powerline industry experience (construction & maintenance).
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, drawings and electrical plans.
• Strong safety awareness with ability to mitigate hazards.
• Ability to mentor apprentices and work independently or in crew.

Responsibilities

• Construct overhead distribution lines including poles and conductors.
• Install and maintain high/low-voltage distribution systems and transformers.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs to restore operation.
• Operate bucket/digger/backhoe and other distribution construction equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in tailboards and safety meetings.
• Maintain records of work and communicate progress to crew.
