Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Four-year formal apprenticeship or journeyman lineman training.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• May be required to be certified to apply herbicides.
• 4+ years of experience in line construction, operation, maintenance, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install, tension, tie in and remove conductors.
• Install, frame and climb poles and structures; remove and disassemble as needed.
• Operate basket trucks, digger trucks, trenchers, backhoes and other equipment.
• Restore electric service promptly after outages due to weather or equipment failure.
• Install and maintain street and security lighting equipment.
• Operate and maintain hydraulic tools and systems.
• Install underground electrical equipment including cable and switchgear.
• Adhere to safety and construction standards.
• CPR and First Aid.
• Report to work fit for duty and free from drug/alcohol effects.
