Job summary

Alliant Energy in Marshalltown, IA is seeking a Journeyman Lineman/Lineworker with four-plus years of line construction or related experience, and completion of the IBEW Lineman Apprenticeship or equivalent. A Class A CDL, CPR and First Aid certifications, and the ability to pass DOT drug testing are required.

You will install, tension, frame, climb poles and structures, operate bucket, digger, trenchers and backhoes, restore power after weather or equipment failure, and install street lighting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Equivalent to four-year formal apprenticeship such as the IBEW Lineman Apprenticeship.
• Journeyman lineman certificate or equivalent; CPR and First Aid.
• May require Class A CDL and herbicide certification.

Responsibilities

• Install, tension, tie in and remove conductors.
• Frame, climb poles and structures; operate construction equipment.
• Restore electric service after outages safely and promptly.
• Install and maintain street lighting and underground equipment.
• Follow safety standards and DOT drug testing requirements.
