Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) seeks a Journeyman Lineman to manage new construction projects and maintain underground and overhead distribution facilities across Arizona. This hard-to-fill posting offers a $20,000 signing bonus under the LOMA dated September 4, 2026.

Applicants must have a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship or equivalent, a Class A CDL (or permit with plan to obtain), and experience on 4kV–21kV lines. CDL requirements, examinations, and travel considerations apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program PLUS one year experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
• CDL Class A with ability to meet all DOT requirements. Must have at least a Class A CDL permit at the time of application, and a clean driving record.
• If applying with a CDL Permit, a valid Class A CDL license must be obtained prior to the official transfer/start date.
• If applying with an out-of-state CDL, a valid Arizona Class A CDL license must be obtained within 30 days of the official transfer/start date.
• Experience working on distribution lines (4kV to 21kV) and related equipment.
• Must live within one hour of headquarters.
• Must pass written and hands-on exam; climbing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Travel reimbursement may be available for out-of-state candidates.
