Job summary

Arizona Public Service in Phoenix seeks a Journeyman Lineman for the HUBwest Overhead System Construction (Out of Town) Crew, responsible for new construction and maintaining underground and overhead facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship or equivalent with one year journeyman experience, a Class A CDL with DOT readiness and a clean driving record, and ability to pass exams and climbing assessments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completed a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training), PLUS One year experience as a Journeyman Lineman
• Commercial Driver’s License (Class “A”) with ability to meet all DOT requirements. Must have at least a Class A CDL permit at the time of application, and a clean driving record.
• If applying with a CDL Permit, a valid Class A CDL license (with no mechanical restrictions) must be obtained prior to the official transfer/start date.
• If applying with an out-of-state CDL, a valid Arizona Class A CDL license (with no mechanical restrictions) must be obtained within 30 days of the official transfer/start date.
• Experience working on all types of distribution lines including 4kv to 21kv and all related equipment required
• Must live within reasonable distance of headquarters (one hour). Reasonable distance requirements will be waived for out-of-town positions in Hotstick, Systems and Reliability.
• Must pass written and hands‑on exam and successfully demonstrate climbing skills
• Subject to Out of town assignments
• Reasonable and necessary overtime required
• Subject to callouts
• Requires working with aerial equipment, which have weight restrictions of 300 pounds or less
• HQ relocation note: Headquarters subject to relocation to the Deer Valley location, on date determined by the Company.
