  • Experience working on distribution lines from 4kV to 21kV.
  • Must live within one hour of headquarters.
  • Must pass written and hands-on exam and demonstrate climbing skills.
  • Overtime and callouts required.
  • Subject to travel reimbursement for out-of-state candidates.

Summary

APS has an immediate opening for a Lineman Journeyman at our Douglas Service Center. We will rely on your exceptional work ethic to be responsible for working on new construction projects and maintaining existing underground and overhead facilities.

This posting has been designated by the Company as a "Hard-to-Fill" position and therefore is eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus under the terms and conditions of the executed LOMA dated September 4, 2026.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School DiplomaorG.E.D.
  • Completed a RegisteredJourneyman Lineman Apprenticeship Programoranequivalent training program(as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training)PLUSone year experienceas aJourneyman Lineman**
  • Commercial Driver's License (Class "A") with ability to meet all DOT requirements. Must have at least a Class A CDL permit at the time of application, and a clean driving record.
    • If applying with a CDL Permit, a valid Class A CDL license (with no mechanical restrictions (i.e., airbrakes)) must be obtained prior to the official transfer/start date.
    • If applying with an out-of-state CDL, a valid Arizona Class A CDL license (with no mechanical restrictions (i.e., airbrakes)) must be obtained within 30 days of the official transfer/start date.
  • Experience working on all types of distribution lines including4kv to 21kvand all related equipment required
  • Must live within reasonable distance of headquarters (one (1) hour).
  • Must pass written and hands-on exam and successfully demonstrate climbing skills. (Travel reimbursement may be available for out of state candidates.)
  • Reasonable and necessary overtime required
  • Subject to callouts
  • Requiresworking with aerial equipment, which have weight restrictions of 300 pounds or less
DOT Information:

A new DOT exam will be conducted by APS within two weeks of hire.

Tests are only administered to referred candidates. More information about our tests and the testing process can be found HERE.

A written [paper and pencil] test will be administered.

A test using a computer with keyboard will be administered.

A hands-on skills test will be administered.
