Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Laborer Journeyman to support the preparation, handling and supplying of materials used by various crafts on our job sites. You will load and unload equipment, assist with scaffolding, level ground, and help place and finish concrete.

The role requires completion of a two-year apprenticeship, construction experience preferred, and the ability to operate power and hand tools. You will work with a diverse team, contribute to safety, and perform related duties as

Qualifications

Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program.
Experience in construction preferred.
Ability to operate power and non-powered tools such as vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
Strong teamwork, positive attitude, professional communication, and openness to feedback.
Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding and staging.
Level ground for scaffolding.
Tend mortar and grout.
Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
General cleanup and debris removal; sweeping, washing, unloading or burning debris.
Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
Vibrate concrete.
Provide work direction to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice.
Collaborate with diverse teams and build professional relationships.
All other duties as assigned.
