Job summary

Johnson Heating & Cooling in Butler, Kentucky, is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Service Technician for on-site residential and light commercial work. The role is full-time with a standard weekday schedule and on-call rotation.

The technician will diagnose and repair systems, perform preventive maintenance, and educate customers on service options. EPA certification and Kentucky license (or ability to obtain) are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HVAC service experience.
• Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License or ability to obtain it once employed.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Willingness to travel throughout the service area.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on light commercial equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and tune-ups.
• Explain repair findings and recommend replacement or upgrade options to customers.
• Educate homeowners about available products and services on-site.

Journeyman HVAC Service Technician

Pay $30.00-$35.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

• Commission and spiff opportunities in addition to hourly wages

Work Hours:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
• On-call rotation approximately once every 4 weeks

Primary Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems
• Perform maintenance and repairs on light commercial equipment
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and tune-ups
• Explain repair findings and recommend replacement or upgrade options to customers
• Educate homeowners about available products and services while providing on-site service

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of HVAC service experience
• Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License or the ability to obtain once employed
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and routine service
• Knowledge of equipment start-up, testing, and system adjustments
• EPA Universal Certification
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
