Job summary

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a skilled Facilities Technician to test, inspect, repair and maintain life safety and property protection systems across CW properties in Williamsburg, VA. This journeyman-level role requires strong electrical knowledge and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Journeyman level Technician designation preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install and service life safety and property protection systems, including Fire Alarm components.
• Maintain Fire Suppression systems (wet/dry/deluge) and related valves.
• Maintain Electronic Security systems (CCTV, access controls, intrusion, comms).
• Document procedures and record information as required.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist in training; coordinate in absence of Master Technician.
