Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking a Facilities Pres., Refurbish, Repair & Main on-site in Williamsburg, VA. Requires 4–8 years in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and controls, plus a Virginia journeyman license is preferred.

The role is non-exempt, with overtime and on-call coverage. Responsibilities include servicing and installing sensors and controls, maintaining electrical systems, and coordinating with contractors to safeguard historic assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4–8 years' experience in one or more trades: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and controls.
• Virginia journeyman license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair sensors and controls in buildings to operate Building Energy Management Systems.
• Repair, replace and install electrical services and wiring to meet current building codes and safety standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure safe, proper operations.
• Adhere to safety regulations and communicate safety issues related to mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Participate in on-the-job training from experienced mechanics.
• Provide on-the-job training for other mechanics while performing service, repair and installation of mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment.
• Oversee and support the work of outside contractors to protect Colonial Williamsburg’s assets and properties.
• Work directly with outside contractors to ensure tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
• On-call coverage 24 hours a day on a rotating schedule; may require nights, weekends or shift work.
• This position is essential personnel and may report to work during emergencies or weather-related events.
• Attend monthly divisional Safety Program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
