Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) who works under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1’s. The position focuses on installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, conductors and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience performing electrical construction in commercial/industrial settings preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to mentor helpers and apprentices on the job site.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit and related components.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and conductors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of circuiting and read drawings.
• Read project specs and blueprints; lay out small work areas from drawings.
• Determine wire sizing and conduit/box requirements.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor helpers/apprentices on site.
