Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead all electrical field operations for assigned projects.

Job Description: Electrical Superintendent / Project Lead (E9)

Pay Range: $38 - $40

Position Summary

The Electrical Superintendent / Project Lead (E9) has overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical work on assigned projects. This role provides project-level leadership, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, schedule adherence, and cost control while coordinating closely with project management, engineering, clients, and field leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all electrical field operations for assigned projects
  • Develop and implement execution plans,manpowerstrategies, and work sequencing
  • Coordinate electrical scope with project management, engineering, safety, QA/QC, and other trades
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Forecastmanpower, labor costs, and resource needs
  • Monitor productivity, schedule progress, and cost performance
  • Identifyand mitigate risks related to safety, schedule, quality, and cost
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, project requirements, and company standards
  • Establish and enforce site-wide safety expectations and work practices
  • Lead or support incident investigations and corrective action development
  • Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities
  • Manage electrical scope changes and support change-order development
  • Interface with clients, inspectors, and regulatory representatives
  • Mentor and develop generalforemen,foremen, and field leadership
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management
  • Support schedule recovery and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with role responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired
  • State-issued Journeyman Electrician license (preferred;requiredwhere applicable)
  • Operational understanding and working knowlwdge of the current NEC code and industry best practices
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects
  • Proven leadership in safety, scheduling, and cost control
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills

Required Certifications and Training

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety
  • NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety)
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Advanced leadership or project management training (preferred)
  • Scheduling or cost-control training (preferred)
  • Jobsite-specific and client-required training as applicable
  • Arc Flash Awareness Training

Tools & Equipment

  • Must provide andmaintaintheir own basic hand tools customary to the electrical trade, ifrequiredto perform field verification or limited hands-on work
  • All hand tools must be in safe working condition andcomply withcompany and jobsite safety requirements

Experience

  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program preferred
  • Typically 12+ years of progressive electrical trade and project leadership experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, climb, and access all areas of the jobsite
  • Ability to work in industrial environments with varying weather and site conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE when in field environments
  • Industrial and commercial construction jobsites
  • Combination of field and office work
  • Exposure to construction hazards, energized systems, and heavy equipment
  • Work hours may include nights, weekends, and extended hours asrequired

Supervision

  • Provides oversight to General Foremen, Foremen, and field leadership
  • Reports to the Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Director of Operations

Safety Expectations

  • Set and enforce project-wide safety standards and culture
  • Ensure consistent implementation of safety programs and procedures
  • Support and reinforce stop-work authority at all levels
  • Hold leadership accountable for safety performance and continuous improvement

Successful performance in this role supports advancement to Electrical Manager (E10) based on leadership impact, technicalexpertise, and organizational contribution.
