Job summary

Montgomery College's Rockville Campus seeks a full-time Electrician in the Facilities Department. The role covers installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and testing of electrical systems, fire alarms, and related equipment.

Requires journeyman license and several years of commercial electrical experience; NICET and fire alarm credentials are preferred. The position is Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and an introductory salary range based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent training.
• Four years of progressively responsible commercial electrical experience.
• Maryland Electrician Journeyman license required.
• NICET certification and fire alarm license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, repair, load and test electrical systems, circuits and devices.
• Troubleshoot and maintain emergency/standby systems, generators, UPS and fire alarms.
• Plan routing and layout of wiring, panels, transformers, VFDs and other equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and fire alarm systems.
• Respond to service calls and repair electrical equipment and circuits.
