Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a full-time Electrician to perform journey-level electrical work across county facilities. The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, with emphasis on safety and customer service within a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications include three years of journey-level experience in a commercial/industrial setting, a high school diploma or GED, and an apprenticeship may substitute for up to one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey-level experience in a commercial and/or industrial electrical work environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the electrical field may substitute for up to one year of the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical motor control systems.
• Install electrical circuits from 120V to 480V; lay out, bend, and install conduit.
• Perform load calculations.
• Maintain, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and the distribution system.
• Document information on the preventive maintenance program and maintain the major maintenance spreadsheet for pending repairs.
• Modify and update systems to conform to code.
• Perform inspections of building envelopes.
• Estimate time and order materials for projects and repairs.
• Other job duties as assigned.
