Job summary

Ada County is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to install, repair and maintain electrical systems across county facilities. The role involves conduit work, switchgear, lighting, and related equipment, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates will have at least five years of commercial/industrial experience and an Idaho journeyman license, plus strong troubleshooting and blueprint-reading skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold Idaho Journeyman Electrician license.
• Minimum five years as Journeyman Electrician in commercial/light industrial work.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, fire alarm, and HVAC support.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains electrical devices, conduit, switch gear, and motors.
• Tests life safety devices, exit lighting, fire alarm systems, and generators.
• Repairs pumps, air compressors, starters, motors and related equipment.
• Troubleshoots circuits and equipment; documents maintenance.
• Plans installation and repair of electrical systems and controls.
• Reviews contracted work for compliance with specs.
• Maintains records of electrical maintenance and upgrades.
• Operates various job site equipment and maintains safety standards.
