Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a skilled Electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems across city facilities. You will troubleshoot equipment, read schematics, ensure NEC compliance, and mentor apprentices, supporting a safe and efficient urban infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications include a Texas Journeyman Electrician license, a high school diploma or technical degree, and 4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical degree required.
• Texas Journeyman Electrician license required.
• 8,000 hours of on-the-job training under a master electrician may fulfill education/experience.
• Journeyman license is required; municipal electrical maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures for City facilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment using schematics to ensure safety and code compliance.
• Inspect systems to identify hazards and ensure building and safety code compliance.
• Document maintenance and repair activities and mentor junior electricians.
