Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a journeyman level electrician to install, repair and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures across city properties and facilities. You will interpret schematics, assess hazards, and ensure compliance with NEC and local codes.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or technical degree, four years of experience, and a Texas Journeyman license. Travel to diverse sites and occasional 24/7 shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 2-year technical degree.
• Four (4) years of electrical maintenance experience, municipal preferred.
• Valid Texas Class C driver’s license and Journeyman license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures for city facilities.
• Troubleshoot motors, controls, and power circuits using schematics.
• Read blueprints/diagrams to plan work and ensure code compliance.
• Document activities and train apprentices on procedures.
• Assist with 24/7 emergency calls and inclement weather work.
